So the reason we use 3.0 is because Quantomas version of the EXE is built around it - it includes the 8th skills and the new AI.
Will it be ever compatible - depends on Quantomas himself.
What we know from him is in this thread.
In short - he is being working on an new ultimate AI that he will implement in Heroes 5. It will be very smart and would not have the need to cheat. He puts an update roughly once every 6 months but release date is not shared yet.
